Teaching
Elena has been teaching music for some fifteen years, and has taught in numerous establishments in Europe and Quebec.
Committed to making music education accessible to all through an inclusive pedagogy, all students are welcome, whatever their level, age or needs.
Elena will accompany you in your learning of the harp, whether for your own personal enjoyment as an amateur, or in preparation for an audition, exam or certificate. The repertoire studied is varied (Celtic, classical, jazz, pop), and Elena will adapt to your musical tastes. Her teaching method includes learning musical notation, posture at the instrument, rhythmic exercises and improvisation, all in a fun way, especially for young children. If you've been dreaming of learning the harp for a long time, don't hesitate!

Harp lessons
Lessons location
Lessons are held at my office in Lemoyne (Longueuil). It is also possible to take distance courses via videoconferencing.
Lessons duration and frequency
Lessons last from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your wishes and level. For the best learning experience, we recommend that you take one class a week, so that you can follow up your practice on a regular basis.
Instrument
It is necessary to have an instrument at home to practice with between lessons to encourage learning. We have a number of harps available for hire, please contact us for availability.
Maison Glissando in Lemoyne also rents harps. For beginners, a 27-string harp will suffice. Later, a 34-string harp will be required.
Lesson outline
Convinced that learning music has an impact on personal development, I advocate a holistic approach to teaching that includes music theory, instrumental technique, musical expressiveness, body and rhythmic awareness, and creativity through improvisation and composition. Learning music should be a pleasure, so lessons take place in a friendly, good-humored atmosphere!
